Business Name:

Choosing a business name requires more than just creativity and an understanding of how to promote and market a business. When choosing a business name, the product or service the business will be providing is often considered, but it is also important to consider the legal aspects of a business name. Generally, a business name is not available if it is already being used by an existing business on file with the Secretary of State. Check the availability of a business name here.

Resident Agent:

Most business entities are required to list a resident agent on their business formation document. This is an individual or entity that is designated to accept service of process for the business. The resident agent must be either an individual in Kansas, the business entity itself, or a corporation, limited partnership, limited liability partnership, limited liability company or business trust.
